Fun-Filled Friday

Thank you to all who helped make our Culmination Ceremony a huge success! Yay! for Gold.

Wow! Our visit to Spring Lake couldn't have been on a more gorgeous day. We had lots of fun checking out Frog Pond and pretending to be raindrops.

Here are the assignments that will be due on Monday, March 14th, 2011

MATH: 

• Complete the Sandwich Solutions and/or Fraction Word Problems
• Complete the Lowest Common Denominator math packet that was due today

HUMANITIES:

• Finish writing your research paper and complete a final draft either on the computer or handwrite it neatly in pen.  Be sure to get your drafts edited by an older sibling, parent, and/or grandparent before you turn it in on Monday

CLUB FORMS:
Club forns are due on Monday so be sure to get it filled out and turned in so that you get your first club choice!

Hi all,

Today was an assembly schedule so students could attend the 2nd Trimester Awards Assembly.  It was a fun filled day and here is the homework for this evening:

PERMISSION SLIPS:  IF YOU HAVE NOT RETURNED YOUR PERMISSION SLIP FOR THE FIED TRIP TOMORROW PLEASE DO SO IN THE MORNING.  I don't want to leave anyone behind...

MATH:  The math packet for finding the 'Lowest Common Denominator' is due tomorrow along with all the math for the math centers.  THE ONLY EXCEPTION IS IF...

• you have not done the "Word Problem" center
• you have not done the "Excel Math" center

If you have not done these two centers, then you will have time to work on it during class tomorrow.

SOCIAL STUDIES: 

• A few students need to collect some more facts on their Research Topics so that they can write another paragraph in their research papers.  This applies to you only if you receive an email from me. 
•  Please be sure to bring in a flash-drive to copy any of the work you have already completed on the classroom computers so that you may finish up your final drafts this weekend.  The final drafts are due on Monday.

Tuesday Triumphs!

Hello all!  I hope you are doing well today!  We have been busily constructing our gold town here in Shady Pines!  It has been a blast!
Anyway, homework for this evening is as follows:

Field Trip Permission Slip: Please sign and send in tomorrow.

Math: 4th grade/5th grade word problems (if started in class during centers), Sandwich Solutions (if started in class during centers)
***New: Math Packets - Many of you have been asking for more take home math, so we have begun a weekly packet of work to practice the skills we are working on in class.  These will be due every Friday so as I told the kids today, pace yourself so you don't HAVE to do it all at once.

Costume and Items for Culmination: Please bring in donated items and costumes to help make the culmination a success!

• COMPLETE STUDENT MEDICAL RELEASE FORM FOR TOMORROW
• PACK FOR TOMORROW
• WEAR YOUR COSTUME TO SCHOOL (JEANS, PLAID/SOLID COLOR FLANNEL TYPE SHIRT)
• Have your parents write a letter to you in the California gold fields

Most important:  Have a wonderful trip to Coloma!!!!!

Hi all!  Here is the homework for tonight:

COMPLETE THE FIELD TRIP PERMISSION SLIP AND MEDICAL RELEASE FORM AND TURN IN TOMORROW!

Math:

• Finish the math worksheet by finding the Greatest Common Factor (GCF) of each of the fractions and simplifying them (Due Tuesday).
• If you need to correct your Fraction Art, please do so and turn it back in tomorrow.

Writing:

• Complete the Transitions worksheet (front and back).  It is due tomorrow.

Welcome to the weekend everyone! My kids were disappointed the snow never showed up in Sebastopol yesterday despite the cold weather.  Maybe we will be in luck next time.  These are the assignments due for Monday:

Math: 

• Completing or correcting Fraction Word Problems and/or Excel Math (Adding/Subtracting Fractions or Multiplying Fractions)

Extra Credit:

• The extra credit assignment is due on Monday. If you are taking advantage of this assignment, please be sure to get it done and turned in Monday morning. Good Luck!

Language Arts:

• A few students need to gather some more facts regarding their research topics in order to write 3 complete paragraphs for their research papers. 
• A few students who have written all five paragraphs of their research papers (Introduction, 3 body paragraphs, and a conclusion) would like to type up their papers.  *Please be sure to save them on your computers and/or flash drives so that you can edit them if necessary.
• Get your Weekly Self Evaluation signed

Finishing Up:

• If you have any late assignments you know you need to complete and turn in please do so and get them turned in on Monday.

MEDICAL RELEASE FORM NEEDS TO BE RETURNED ON MONDAY!

Thunderous Thursday!

Happy Thursday everyone!  I am not sure of what the homework is today (Nicola will update you on that) but I wanted to let you all know that there is a medical release form coming home to you today that must be filled out and returned by tomorrow.  It is for Coloma and I totally forgot to send it out sooner! (I am sorry for any inconvenience).  If we don't have a medical release form for your child before we leave next Wednesday, I am aftraid that they won't be able to go.  =(  So, make sure you get the medical release form back in by tomorrow.
